The UNC football program added another Washington Husky on Saturday. Redshirt freshman Jason Robinson is headed to Chapel Hill.

Robinson is a 5-foot-10, 151-pound wide receiver from California. He played at the famed Long Beach Poly program before transferring to San Juan Hills for his senior year, where he caught 68 passes for 900 yards and nine touchdowns.

Why mention Robinson's high school stats? Well, that's because he has no college ones. Robinson did not see any game action this past season and redshirted. He did win Washington's Brian Stapp Defensive Scout Squad MVP, so he wasn't just twiddling his thumbs in Seattle.

Robinson obviously made a big enough impression on Steve Belichick to pass the word up the chain that he was a take for North Carolina. It probably didn't take too much to convince UNC to make a spot for him. Out of high school as a three-star recruit, he had offers from Georgia, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Southern Cal.

Robinson has deep speed and can operate on the outside. He has a Dyami Brown-type dynamism that UNC hasn't seen in a few years. Hopefully, he'll hit the ground running to give the Tar Heels the vertical threat they've been missing since Tez Walker.
