The UNC football program and NC State have been duking it out over the years, but the Wolfpack's quarterback CJ Bailey made a statement on Wednesday — touching on the idea of Bill Belichick being in Chapel Hill.

"Yeah, I've seen it. Bill Belichick can get it, too. We can go five years. No matter who the coach is for UNC, we're going to kick them."

The school, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, is riding on a four-game winning streak dating back to 2021 when the Tar Heels fell by a score of 34-30 at Carter-Finley Stadium. At the time, Sam Howell was playing quarterback in Chapel Hill — now found in the NFL underneath Mike Macdonald's tutelage.

Now that UNC has a new head coach, can the losing skid be broken? Who knows.

However, Bailey did not hold back while speaking to the media — leaving the Tar Heels hungry for its next matchup.

""It means a lot that I could play against Bill Belichick, meet him. But if he comes to play, we're going to kill him. We're going to kill him."

Bailey spoke with explicit language and confidence — surely the Tar Heels will be remembering the quote until the two teams face each other once more. For Bailey's sake, he better hope it doesn't backfire because UNC's fan base will have a field day if so.

Carolina fans can look forward to this matchup more than ever next season with a different kind of guidance above the players.

A six-time Super Bowl winner.

Props to Chancellor Lee H. Roberts and athletic director Bubba Cunningham for making this move because it's a confidence booster for fans of the UNC football program

There's still so much work to be done but Belichick is step one of what's to come. Hopefully, a spot in the College Football Playoffs is in the picture.

Let's wait and find out.
