Progress?
It's said that when turning a program around, first you lose small, win small, then win big. Against Cal and Virginia, UNC got the lose small part right (after losing BIG against every other Power 5 team they played), but will they continue to progress forwards?
Syracuse was something of a gimme win. They have been a shell of themselves ever since Steve Angeli tore his Achilles. Carolina had to win this game.
But aside from the scoop and score Syracuse scored on defense, their offense didn't offer much of a threat. It was just a matter of UNC's offense getting charged enough to carry the team over the line. Next up is Stanford. The Cardinal's defense is one spot better than Syracuse's in the ACC (second-to-last), but their offense only generates 304.8 yards per game, second worst in the ACC. Who is it better than? UNC at 280.6 per game.
Let's see if UNC can win small against Stanford.
