North Carolina was unexpectedly good all game long, but they really beat Virginia in the second quarter. Everything after that was just icing on the cake.

Virginia has suffered from red zone issues all season, and that trend continued on Saturday. The Cavs only managed to score two field goals against UNC, despite having drives that reached first and goal. Meanwhile, the Tar Heels had three drives in the second quarter and scored on all three, including two touchdowns. The second touchdown took just over a minute and left Virginia with just five seconds to try and answer.

The Tar Heels sandwiched that excellent close to the first half by intercepting Anthony Colandrea on Virginia's opening drive in the third quarter. North Carolina seemed to finally grasp the concept of stepping on an opponent's neck.
