When all hope seemed lost, and another heavy road loss to No. 14 Virginia looked as certain as death, the UNC basketball program took a breath at halftime and showed the country that they're made of sterner stuff. No. 22 North Carolina won in Charlottesville for the second time in a row, after losing at John Paul Jones Arena the previous eight times. And this time, it took everything the Tar Heels had to pull off the comeback.
The first half will no doubt be a concern, but Hubert Davis will have a week to correct those issues before UNC plays again at Georgia Tech. Coach Davis will be a proud papa bear after his team's second-half comeback, so the mood should be good next week in Chapel Hill.
