Lessons Learned from UNC basketball's shellacking of Central Arkansas

It would've taken Cocaine Bear to compete with Caleb Wilson in his college basketball debut.

Kyan Evans shooting!

I was a tad worried after the Winston-Salem State exhibition after Kyan Evans only scored six points. He made two threes, but didn't seem to be in the groove or exerting his will on the team. He was a bit of a passenger.

Against Central Arkansas, he stepped to the fore. He scored 15 points (second best on the team after Caleb Wilson's 22) on 5 of 8 shooting (4 of 7 from three), and had five assists against just two turnovers.

UNC's offense will be a lot more dangerous with a lead guard who can shoot, and is a willing scorer. The assists were great, but those will feel more like a bonus, especially after watching Luka Bogavac shake off the rust and still dishing out five assists. This team is good at sharing the rock and pushing pace, as evidenced by its 26 fastbreak points, so a traditional passing point guard is surplus to requirements. You can never get enough good perimeter shooting, though, so keep shooting Kyan!
