Losing the math game

Alright, I was a history major in school, so help me out with my math.

Alabama won the game 94-79. That is a 15-point margin.

Alabama went 12/33 from three, which equates to 36 points from downtown. North Carolina went 5/28 from three, giving the Tar Heels 15 points from distance.

36 - 15 = 21. 21 > 15.

Alabama's three-point shooting (both volume and percentage) assured their victory. North Carolina needed to either keep the Tide cool from beyond the arc, or shoot more threes themselves. They were never going to catch up playing the way they did. As long as my math checks out.
