UNC threw away one of its primary advantages over Stanford in the loss: its free-throw disparity. The Cardinal could not deal with UNC's size in the post, as Caleb Wilson and Henri Veesaar combined for 18 free throw attempts. Unfortunately, the two of them only made 10, barely over 50%.

Jarin Stevenson at one point hit four free throws in a row when he shot for a foul he endured, and the accompanying technical. His arm must have been tired from all of that shooting, because his next trip to the line resulted in two bricks, essentially a turnover.

Only Luka Bogavac (who went a perfect 4/4 from the charity stripe) could hold his head up high. North Carolina as a team missed 12 free throws. If half of those misses are makes, UNC wins the game. The Tar Heels don't have an RJ Davis type that will create space and shots on the perimeter, so a lot of production is going to come in the post. UNC can't leave those points on the floor, especially in tight contests.
