Holding Lattimore at Bay

Prior to last night's trip to Chapel Hill, NC Central's leading scorer Gage Lattimore had averaged 24 points per game this season. North Carolina held him to half of that.

The Tar Heels obviously had a size and skill advantage over the Eagles, but how many times have we seen a star player on a mid-major team come into the Dean Dome and shoot the lights out? Too many! Lattimore hit four threes for his 12 hard-earned points, but was run ragged, shooting just 4-of-19 from the floor.

North Carolina will face plenty more dangerous shooters this season, so this was a good early test to pass. Lattimore is no chump, he went 5-of-6 from three against Virginia. Kudos are fully deserved here.
