Worst... Refs... Ever

Let's ignore for a moment all the forearms that Wake Forest was allowed to press and push on UNC necks. Let's forget that forearms could be judo chopped on the way to the rim. Let's just pretend that Ven-Allen Lubin would get beaten and battered on one end of the floor, then get whistled for the most innocuous contact as two players jumped for a rebound.

Sometimes refs can be inconsistent. These refs were just bad.

When have you ever seen Hubert Davis flip his lid like he did when he insisted that the refs review the Grayson Allen-esque trip by Juke Harris? It's a good thing that Coach Davis blew his stack so the refs would look at that play. It would be important later on when Harris fouled out.

Why did the refs call a double foul on Elliot Cadeau and Cameron Hildreth when the Wake Forest guard and Efton Reid put Cadeau in a sandwich and mashed him up? How can you miss a possession call so bad, you get steady eddie assistant coach Brad Frederick to flip out and get T'd up?

It's hard enough to win when you have to overcome a tough team like Wake Forest. When you have to deal with these types of calls as well, it can really test a man's spirit. Fortunately, UNC is made of stern stuff, and they'll have an opportunity to grab a tournament bid with both hands if they beat Duke tomorrow night.
