The UNC football program remains winless against Power 5 opponents, with a 17-16 loss to No. 16 Virginia. But it's a second consecutive single-digit loss, and an improved margin from the three-point loss to California.
North Carolina's offense is still struggling to put up points, failing to put up 20 or more points against Power 5 competition. Hell, the Tar Heels only put up 20 against Charlotte, so that milestone could well be out of their hands. But the defense was stout, holding Virginia under 20 points for the first time all season.
There's a lot to digest, so put despair to one side and let's look at some lessons learned from a close loss to Virginia.
