The UNC basketball program was in "win now" mode after a loss at home to Stanford last Saturday. Wake Forest presented an opportunity to get back on track, but instead of getting an on-time performance, North Carolina's tournament bid got a train wreck.
Poor shooting led to... actually, poor isn't strong enough. Destitute shooting led to a rebounding battle that the Tar Heels lost 41-33. Wake Forest wasn't especially pretty on the offensive end either, but did get to the line 17 more times than UNC, and that was more than enough to account for the game's margin.
Hold your nose. It's time to look at some lessons learned from a devastating loss at Wake Forest.
