Elliot Cadeau is not to blame

Many folks moaned when Elliot Cadeau got by his man and missed the lay-up that would have put UNC up by one with 19 seconds left in regulation. It was a tough miss, for sure, but the long knives for the sophomore point guard need to be sheathed.

If it weren't for Cadeau's huge three-pointer with a minute left, North Carolina wouldn't even be in a position to go for a win, having to instead keep playing the "foul to preserve time" game. He was also instrumental in grabbing loose-ball steals (which looked exactly like some fouls he was called for against Auburn) that helped UNC rally in the second-half.

Cadeau has had an uneven Maui Invitational. But he will make more than his fair share of clutch shots for the Tar Heels before the season is over. Trust me on this. Don't despair, Cadeau will reward your faith tenfold.
