Post starter merry-go-round continues
Jalen Washington was back in the starting line-up against Campbell after relinquishing his spot to Ven-Allen Luben. He had a solid game against a smaller side, but it was important for his self confidence to show what he was capable of in the paint.
Washington was catching balls cleanly for easy dunks in pick-and-roll action, and he was setting solid screens when the Tar Heels were probing along the perimeter. This was a far cry from the player who looked a shell of himself since Maui.
It seems like the ship has sailed on any hope that this team would generate scoring in the post like last year's, but Washington is probably UNC's best hope at providing a steady income of 8-10ish points per game from the paint. For a starting line-up that lacks size, it's imperative that the 6-foot-10 Washington plays big.
