Lessons Learned from the UNC basketball program's exhibition win at Memphis
Jalen Washington looks like the real deal
Jalen Washington has been brought up to speed at UNC delicately and with good reason. He was dealing with two ACL injuries at high school. Fortunately, with Armando Bacot around, Washington didn't need to play a ton of minutes. That may need to change.
Washington showed his full repertoire of offensive skills against Memphis. He was busy in the post, got around bodies to take the rock strong to the hoop, was selective and efficient with his three-point shooting (2-2), and contributed defensively (one block and three steals).
It's early days, but based on the lack of production from newcomer Ven-Allen Lubin and the limited minutes from freshman James Brown, UNC may need Washington to play as many minutes as his body can handle. He is a clear difference maker.
