The Tar Heels only had one game between the Kansas game last Friday and the Hawaii game next Friday. They showed up in a big way.

Tar Heels need more from deep

North Carolina did not hit a three-pointer in the first half, and their first make wasn't until the 12:43 mark in the second half when Cade Tyson finally broke the duck. Once Tyson made his second, the block party invitation was out, and Cadeau, Davis, and Trimble all joined. But that first half was barren.

Now granted, UNC only took six threes in the first half, and RJ Davis didn't hunt his shot, going just 0-3 from deep in the first half. But a whole half without a three is not a recipe for guard-heavy North Carolina to succeed.

Cade Tyson finally decided to shoot the ball as soon as it hit his hands in the corner, going 3-7 in the second half and getting a lively Friday night Dean Dome crowd on their feet. Coach Davis needs Tyson to be a perimeter threat all season long. UNC is having a ton of success attacking the rim, but that won't last if teams can just pack the paint.
