Jae'Lyn Withers had some kind of homecoming. The Charlotte, NC native stood on all ten toes for his city, scoring a career-high 21 points on 7/10 shooting, all of his shots three-pointers. It wasn't just sniping from the perimeter for Withers either. He had nine rebounds, and was active on defense, blocking two shots and swiping two steals.

This may have been the best performance of his Carolina career, and this type of player is surely what Hubert Davis envisaged when he plucked Withers out of Louisville in the transfer portal. It took a while to get here, but seeing his talent flourish is a reward worth waiting for.

When UNC lost at Wake Forest in January, Withers only played 10 minutes and scored just one basket for three points. Let's see how the Demon Deacons like dealing with this version of Withers. If he performs anywhere close to the level he was at today tomorrow, the Hornets might want to take a gamble on him!
