Front Court Sorted?

Seth Trimble's return to the starting line-up may have fixed a different issue that Hubert Davis needed to solve. Who was going to back up Caleb Wilson and Henri Veesaar in the post?

Absent from the box score against Ohio State were James Brown and Zayden High. They were both unable to grab the back-up big man role during Trimble's absence. They traded minutes game to game, and against Ohio State, they did not play at all.

Why? Because of Jarin Stevenson. The 6-foot-10 swing man is big enough to play in the post and versatile enough to defend guards on the perimeter. He took on the honorary Leaky Black role on the team when Seth Trimble got injured, giving Hubert Davis a gigantic front line.

He's more trustworthy in the flow of the offense, even if he isn't particularly prolific. Stevenson's three-point shooting continues to run cold, but he did add 6 points, more than his season average of 5.3 ppg.

If Seth Trimble plays at this level for the rest of the season, Hubert Davis can bank on Stevenson being his first big off the bench. Wilson and Veesaar continue to be the best front court in America, but they will occasionally run into foul trouble (Veesaar had four, Wilson had three). Having a plus defender to soak up minutes will be extremely useful.
