The season has hit a low point for the UNC basketball program after its second loss in a row. The Tar Heels lost to Cal last yesterday to finish their west coast road trip 0-2, and they looked horrible doing it. A season that had so much promise, with early wins over traditional blue bloods Kansas and Kentucky, showed some wobble when UNC hit the road in ACC play, losing to SMU, Stanford, and now Cal.
More than just the losses is the manner in which they are lost. UNC's defense, once a KenPom top 15-ranked defense for efficiency, is now dwindling at 52 and sinking like a stone. ACC teams are bombarding North Carolina from distance, and as much as Hubert Davis tries, nothing seems to be stopping the bleeding right now.
Let's look at some lessons learned from a very concerning loss at Cal.
