Lessons Learned from a close exhibition loss to BYU in Salt Lake City

Undermanned, but not under-manly, the Tar Heels came up just short with a chance to win the game.

What have we got here???

Caleb Wilson may be the best freshman from the UNC basketball program since... Coby White? Harrison Barnes?

The Atlanta native led the Tar Heels in scoring and rebounding with 22 points (9 for 17 shooting) and 10 boards (4 offensive rebounds). Wilson scored four more points than fellow freshman phenom Dybantsa, which will certainly put some wind in his sails.

While still raw in certain aspects, the skill set that Wilson presents is too tantalizing to ignore. He blocked a shot early in the opening half, collected the ball, then immediately began pushing up court with a serviceable handle. Unfortunately, he ended the possession with a turnover, but these things will get ironed out as the season continues.

Wilson explodes to the rim, which will make it harder to block his dunk attempts without fouling. I can easily see Wilson becoming the go-to player for end-of-clock plays, since he can either score easy buckets, or at least guarantee two free throw attempts.
