Gio Lopez only completed four passes in the TCU loss. Two of those were caught by Jordan Shipp in the first drive, back when hope still coursed through these veins. The other two were caught by running backs Caleb Hood and Davion Gause, the latter netting a loss of four yards.

Four passes, three receivers. Yikes!

Against Charlotte, Lopez played the entire game and was able to get things going to a wider cast of characters. He hit nine different receivers, five wideouts and four running backs. His favorite target of the night was Chris Culliver, who made up for a diabolical drop against TCU with some brilliant catches, including the touchdown from the opening drive.

Lopez hasn't zeroed in on any particular receiver, a la Josh Downs, which is good for the offense and player morale. If he could get the tight ends in the mix a little more, it would show defenses that they can get hurt at all three levels, but let's walk before we run.
