The UNC football program came out of the bye week shot out of a cannon. The defense, which had been unable to stop the run during a four-game losing streak, was suddenly serious about getting off the field. The defensive line, often impotent against opposition O-line protection, had nine sacks!

What more could Geoff Collins get his defense to do to show Tar Heel nation they had turned the page? How about a big man pick-six?

Jahvaree Ritzie, who was already glowing with a stellar performance, adding another sack to his career-high season total (6), got his big paw on an Anthony Colandrea pass, grabbed the tipped ball out of the air, pushed Colandrea's head into the turf, then rumbled all the way to the end zone.

North Carolina have been aching for a defensive performance like this all season. Hopefully, there's more left for the trip to Tallahassee next week!
