With Bill Belichick's arrival in Chapel Hill, the UNC Football program is expected to be extremely active in the transfer portal this offseason as Belichick and his staff plan to reinvent the program. The new coaching staff has a great opportunity to start this era strong by securing a big name in the portal.
Texas A&M transfer defensive lineman Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy has reportedly announced that he is working to set up a visit with North Carolina. The redshirt sophomore was ranked as the No. 5 defensive lineman in the country coming out of Lakeland High School and the No. 2 player in the state of Florida.
The former five-star recruit has already scheduled visits with three other schools, all among the SEC. Brownlow-Dindy will visit Vanderbilt on December 12-13, South Carolina on December 16-17, and is also working on setting up a visit to Alabama. While the chances of North Carolina securing Brownlow-Dindy are unknown, it's certainly nice for Tar Heel fans to see their football program in a conversation with some of the biggest powerhouses in the country.
Brownlow-Dindy isn't the first defensive player in the transfer portal that Belichick and the UNC football program have been tied to this week. According to On3 Sports, the UNC football staff has also reached out to one of the top cornerback prospects in the portal, Michigan State Transfer Charles Brantley.
