Elliot Cadeau reclassified for the 2023 season to be able to play for the UNC basketball program early. Cadeau very early became a huge piece and the starting point guard. This season, Cadeau has all the tools to have a breakout year, and the world knows it.

Cadeau has received nationwide recognition as a Bob Cousy Award Watch List and one of the top 20 point guards in the country.

Last season, Cadeau finished averaging 7.3 points and 4.1 assists. The young guard is one of the best playmakers in the country and will only continue to grow during his sophomore season. In two exhibition games, Cadeau finished with 8 and 13 assists. This led to a double-double vs Memphis on October 15th. Cadeau struggled to shoot the three during the 2023-24 season. Cadeau finished the year shooting only 18% from three. Although, Cadeau has taken a big step this offseason from behind the arc. This preseason, Cadeau shot 3-5 from three in both exhibition games. He also had a 45% field goal percentage through the two games.

Cadeau can be a real threat in the backcourt with RJ Davis this season. If he can continue to shoot well and use his elite playmaking skills, he will be a March finalist for the Bob Cousy Award. Cadeau, joining Raymond Felton, Ty Lawson, and Kendall Marshall, can become the fourth Tar Heel to win the Bob Cousy Award. The 20-year-old sophomore is ready to have his big breakout season for the Tar Heels and become one of the best point guards in the country.
