From the moment it was announced that standout Cal shooting guard Andrej Stojakovic was going to be entering the transfer portal, North Carolina basketball fans have been calling for Hubert Davis to reach out to him. It's a trending topic all over social media.
Unfortunately, the early reports appear to state that UNC is done making a major splash in the transfer portal, with Jarin Stevenson, Kyan Evans, Henri Veesaar and Jonathan Powell already on the way. The thought of Stojakovic in Tar Heel blue was nice, but it's a long shot at best.
Other teams have already been linked with the sharpshooter, who averaged 17.9 points per game last season, including the Duke Blue Devils. For UNC supporters out there, it would obviously be the worst-case scenario to see Stojakovic suit up for Jon Scheyer and Duke next campaign:
Cal guard Andrej Stojaković is entering the transfer portal with a ‘Do Not Contact’ tag. The 6-7 sophomore and former McDonald’s All-American averaged 17.9 points. Huge get for someone. Duke, Auburn, Illinois among those involved.

Andrej Stojakovic already linked with Duke must make UNC fans sick
While Davis has been working overtime in filling out his roster for 2025-26, Scheyer and the Blue Devils still have a lot of work to do. The expectation, barring a miracle, is that Cooper Flagg is off to the NBA Draft. Duke is also losing Kon Knueppel and others.
The Blue Devils were once considered the favorite to land 5-star forward Nate Ament, but a crystal ball pick just went in for Tennessee to sign him. With 5-star prospect Shelton Henderson decommitting too, it has left a lot of people scratching their heads over what's going on in Durham. Hey, people in Chapel Hill can smile about this mess for Duke.
However, Scheyer appears to be cooking something up behind the scenes and he's going to target the big names left in the portal. With Stojkaovic entering the portal with the do not contact tag, he could have his next school already in mind.
If he's not going to make the move to UNC, then people will be hoping he picks either Auburn, Illinois or someone else. The North Carolina faithful indeed would hate to see the talented guard playing close by in Durham instead.
