Drake Maye led the New England Patriots to another win in primetime on Sunday Night in Baltimore to lock up a spot in the playoffs. And this time, he did it with a career game.
This time, another comeback would be needed for Maye to secure that first playoff spot for New England in four years. The Patriots trailed 24-13 with just under 10 minutes remaining before the former UNC Football quarterback dropped an absolute dime to wide receiver Kyle Williams for a 37-yard touchdown pass.

The throw to Williams cut the deficit to five, and then Maye converted the two-point conversion with a pass to Rhamondre Stevenson to make it a field goal possession game.
The next possession, Maye converted a 4th & 2 to put the Patriots in position to at the very least tie the game before Stevenson broke off a 21-yard run for the game-winning touchdown.
After a Baltimore turnover, and trying to run out the clock, Maye showed he could use his legs to put the game on ice and get the Patriots into victory formation, securing the primetime win.

Erasing the 24-13 deficit was the largest fourth-quarter comeback for New England since the infamous 28-3 game versus the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, when the Patriots trailed 28-9 with just under 10 minutes remaining.
Maye had career highs in completions and yards versus the Ravens on Sunday night, with 31 completions and racking up his first-ever 300-yard game in the National Football League, throwing for a total of 380 yards and adding two touchdown passes.
According to DraftKings, Maye is currently second in the odds race to win the 2025 MVP at +185 odds. The current odds leader to take home the MVP is Matthew Stafford at -215.
The Patriots are now in a two-team race with the Denver Broncos for the AFC's No. 1 overall seed. According to ESPN analytics, New England has a 39.8% chance of securing the top seed, while Denver has a 36.1% chance.
The Patriots will need to have a better record over the final two weeks than the Broncos, as they are currently tied for the No. 1 spot and Denver holds the tiebreaker. New England travels to the Jets on Sunday and will finish up with the Dolphins at home in Week 18. The Broncos will play at Kansas City (without Patrick Mahomes) on Christmas Day and get the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18.
The good news for Maye and the Patriots is that the Chargers are also fighting for a playoff spot and will need the win against Denver, which could help New England earn the top spot for a bye week and allow the road to Super Bowl LX to run through Foxborough once again.
