A busy day in Chapel Hill continues as former Purdue quarterback Ryan Browne has just announced his commitment to North Carolina. Browne will have three years remaining eligibility for the UNC football program.
The six-foot-four 215, 215-pound QB appeared in eight games for Purdue as a freshman, throwing for 542 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions. Although Browne had limited playing time in 2024, his potential shined in an overtime loss to Illinois. Browne completed 18 of 26 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns, tacking 118 yards on the ground.
The former three-star was the No. 50-ranked quarterback in the nation coming out of high school and the No.3 prospect in New York, according to 247Sports.
His commitment comes just days after four-star quarterback Bryce Baker was introduced to the Tar Heel faithful at halftime of UNC’s basketball game against La Salle, where Bill Belichick accompanied him.
Belichick has made it clear that he’s looking for a quarterback competition, and he’s certainly got one now.
