They say that March comes in like a lion, out like a lamb. This March, Coby White has been king of the jungle for all four weeks. The former UNC basketball program star point guard was just named KIA NBA Player of the Month for the Eastern Conference.

White's productivity speaks for itself. In March, he averaged 27.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. He also became the second Chicago Bull to win NBA Player of the Week honors in consecutive weeks (the second and third week of March). The first? Another Tar Heel you may have heard of named Michael Jordan.

Coby White ran a streak of 15 consecutive games (14 in March) of 20+ points per game, making him the sixth Chicago Bull to accrue such a streak. All of this consistent production was punctuated with his March 6th masterclass against the Orlando Magic where he scored a career-high 44 points, 17 of them in the fourth quarter.

Paolo Banchero is fortunate that he never had to catch that work in college, missing Coby White by three seasons.

Oh, how North Carolina could have used a big guard who could stretch the floor and attack the rim like Coby White this season! The Goldsboro, NC native shot 49.5% from the field, 37.9% from distance, and 87.8% from the free throw line in March (bettering his season-long averages of 44.6/36.8/89.3) to help Chicago to a 9-6 record in March in what has been an otherwise listless season. The Bulls are in tenth place in the Eastern Conference, out of the guaranteed playoff spots, possibly needing the Play-In Tournament to see the postseason.

No matter what is going on in the Windy City, as long as Coby White keeps suiting up for the Bulls, you can expect the points, especially from downtown, to keep dropping.
