Crew Davis, a dual-sport athlete from New Rochelle, NY, has become the fifth player in the class of 2026 to commit to the North Carolina football program.
The six-foot 205-pound running back visited Chapel Hill this weekend and announced his commitment almost immediately after. Davis also intends to play lacrosse for North Carolina.
Davis ran for 1,350 yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior last season, averaging an impressive 10.6 yards per carry. He also proved to be a threat out of the backfield as a receiver, catching 52 passes for 728 yards and seven touchdowns. His outstanding junior season earned him the MaxPreps New York High School Football Player of the Year title.
The commitment from Davis comes just days after class of 2025 UNC lacrosse commit Gary Merrill, also from New York, announced that he intends to play for the UNC football team after receiving an offer from Bill Belichick.
Merrill earned the title of Gatorade New York Football Player of the Year after a stellar senior campaign in 2024 and will now have a new teammate on both fields come 2026.
