Bill Belichick is gaining another running back for the 2025 class as he has flipped Temple commit Joseph Troupe. The Tampa, Florida native stands at 5-foot-8 and 200 pounds — listed as a three-star. He is No. 94 at his position and No. 129 in the state of Florida, per 247Sports.
Inside Carolina shared the news:
Troupe received offers from Bowling Green, Coastal Carolina, Delaware, East Carolina, Florida A&M and more.
Inside Carolina Don Callahan wrote about Troupe's commitment and shared insightful information:
"The commitment switch occurred during Troupe's official visit to UNC, which began on Friday, concluded on Sunday, and included Saturday's basketball overtime win over Boston College. He had officially visit FIU a week ago.
At Berkeley Prep High, Troupe shared the backfield with Notre Dame four-star signee Dallas Golden. As a senior, Troupe rushed for 707 and six touchdowns on 107 carries (6.6-yard average). He also caught eight passes for 91 yards.
Troupe's junior campaign -- which ended with a Florida 2M Championship -- was much more impressive: 1,510 yards and 16 touchdowns on 237 rushes (6.4-yard average). He concluded his four-year varsity career with 522 carries for 3,444 yards and 42 touchdowns.
Belichick continues to find success in gathering players in Chapel Hill. One area of concern when he was originally hired — that is not the case. Nevertheless, he satisfies the expectations and entices fans needs of turning the football program around.
The first-ever recruiting class for Belichick with the UNC football program is building with high schoolers and transfers from the portal — a start to what is hoped to be a bright future filled with success.
