Class of 2025 five-star recruit Caleb Wilson's epic recruitment is almost over, as he's announced his final three schools, along with his commitment date:

The 6-foot-9, 205 pound power forward will announce his decision on Thursday, January 23rd and will choose between basketball bluebloods Kentucky and North Carolina. And Ohio State.

Wilson would have an immediate impact on the UNC basketball program, which has struggled to fill out its frontcourt after the departure of Harrison Ingram and Armando Bacot. Freshman Drake Powell has been forced to play at the four spot next to a still improving Jalen Washington, but would probably prefer to have a size advantage at the two or three spot.

Caleb Wilson would have no such issues. He's three inches taller and already ten pounds heavier than Powell. A summer in the weight room with Jonas Sahratian would have the blue chipper ready for immediate action. Wilson is an explosive athlete with an aggressive offensive game, and should help Hubert Davis get the kind of production out of the front court that UNC is used to fielding.

It will be a tough final race, and NIL opportunities along with program fit and school prestige will all have their say, but you have to like North Carolina's chances. Hubert Davis has shown that he can showcase power forwards in a variety of ways. Caleb Wilson doesn't fit into a Brady Manek or Harrison Ingram archetype, but you can clearly see how he'd be successful in Carolina blue. Let's see if Coach Davis can reel Caleb Wilson in on Thursday.
