Alright we get it, the mood surrounding UNC basketball isn't the best right now following the rough loss to NC State on Tuesday night. We had a feeling it could be a long night with both Caleb Wilson and Henri Veesaar sidelined. Time to flush the defeat and move on.

Quadir Copeland's tone-deaf jab at Caleb Wilson ignores the one key fact

Before tip-off arrived, however, plenty of North Carolina fans were pretty jacked up, as a video made its way online of Wilson shooting the ball from distance despite his fractured left hand. Wait, what? Yup, he indeed was dribbling and taking some shots. There's still no set date for when he'll be back on the hardwood, but Wilson's words for the UNC faithful shouldn't be ignored either:

Caleb Wilson keeps making it clear he'll be back for UNC basketball this season

Is this kid human? Regardless of if the ball hit the bottom of the net or not, the fact that Wilson is already out on the hardwood putting up some jumpers is ridiculous. If you look closely at his face too, he's showing no signs of being in pain or discomfort.

While this is no question a positive step, he's nowhere close to 100 percent and we need to wait a little bit longer before anyone can make a guess on when he'll be able to suit up for Hubert Davis once again. Maybe for the start of the ACC Tournament? Again, who knows if that will be the case.

For Wilson, though, you've got to imagine he can't wait to start making plays again for the Tar Heels. When it was first revealed that he had suffered his serious injury, there was major concern across the country that he had potentially played his last game in Carolina blue.

That's (likely) not going to be the case, as the 5-star freshman phenom has passionately let everyone know that he's going to keep attacking his rehab and inch his way back. Wilson has already meant so much to this program and his desire to keep performing at a high level for North Carolina sure is admirable.
