3 Predictions for the UNC Football program's game at Virginia
The Tar Heels need to get on track in Charlottesville to save their season.
J.J. Jones will lead the team in receiving yards, but not reach 100
Senior J.J. Jones is currently leading North Carolina in receiving yards this season with 364. It's a modest sum when you think back to some of the yards piled up by guys like Josh Downs or Dyami Brown. Part of the reason is that UNC cannot attack the field vertically as well as it did last year, and Jacolby Criswell hasn't locked on to any one receiver.
Against Georgia Tech, Criswell hit eight receivers, and the most passes catched between them was three by Jones, Nesbit, and Kobe Paysour. Don't expect that pattern to change.
The difference for Jones is that he gets a lot of his action down the field. Look for him to catch at least two passes, one for a big, big gain, but for his total to not go over 100.
