The College GameDay crew made their GameDay Selections for the UNC Football game versus NC State today, and their picks may surprise you.

The UNC Football program appears to be stumbling to the finish line once again this November, losing three of their final four games against FBS opponents and coming off a 31-20 loss to Clemson. As the Tar Heels head to Raleigh to face rival NC State, the game appeared on ESPN’s College GameDay show as one of the GameDay Selections for the crew to choose from.

North Carolina enters the game as a 2.5-point favorite, and despite being the projected favorite in the rivalry game, the majority of the College GameDay crew didn’t pick the Tar Heels…

While the GameDay Selections is for fun and games and doesn’t have any impact on the game itself, it still may be shocking for some UNC Football fans to have the Tar Heels be seen as an underdog to the public in this game. It’s a rivalry game on the road, and Carter-Finley Stadium will most certainly be a daunting environment for the Tar Heels.

Ultimately, Pat McAfee and Aidan Hutchinson were the two on the College GameDay crew that picked the Tar Heels to pull out the road victory versus the Wolfpack.

The key factor will be whether Drake Maye and the talent of the North Carolina offense can overcome the stout defense that NC State presents. Kickoff between the Tar Heels and Wolfpack is scheduled for 8:00 PM on ACC Network.
