No. 1: The battle of the running game

Greg Barnes shared a very interesting fact pertaining to this rivalry, as the run game has dictated the majority of the last 31 matchups between the two foes.

Omarion Hampton currently is tied for the nation’s lead in rushing yards, as two strong performances to close out the season can help him challenge the UNC football program’s single-season mark.

Over the last two weeks, NC State quarterback Brennan Armstrong has done plenty of damage with his legs, as he’s rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns in the Wolfpack’s last two victories.

Although Hampton will put together another 100-yard performance against a very good defense, it will be NC State who dominates on the ground.

The Tar Heels are coming off allowing 247 rushing yards to the Clemson Tigers, as NC State could have a 150+ rushing-yard performance ahead of them as well.

North Carolina has struggled with mobile quarterbacks, as we all know…
