Within the first ten minutes of the UNC Basketball game versus UC Riverside on Friday night, big man Armando Bacot passed legend Walter Davis in scoring.

Armando Bacot has been a dominant force for years within the UNC Basketball program and has set several records, including the rebounding record and double-double record during his senior season just a year ago.

Now, in his fifth year, Bacot is continuing to climb his way up the all-time scoring list and pass some UNC Basketball legends along the way. On Friday night against UC Riverside, less than nine minutes into the game, Bacot scored on a turnaround hook shot that gave the Tar Heels a 20-9 lead.

It also tied Bacot with UNC Basketball Legend Walter Davis for 10th in North Carolina history with 1,863 career points. No more than two minutes later, with 9:02 remaining in the first half, Bacot scored again, giving the Tar Heels a 26-9 lead and officially passing Davis on the all-time scoring list for 10th.

Bacot has been a driving force for the Tar Heels and, at the time of this article, with six minutes remaining in the first half against UC Riverside, he was leading UNC Basketball in scoring with twelve points and the Tar Heels leading 32-17.

Next up on the all-time scoring list that Bacot will be eyeing to pass will be Brad Daugherty, who has 1,912 points, Antwan Jamison with 1,974 points, and Larry Miller with 1,982 points.

The legend Walter Davis passed away 15 days ago on November 2nd.
