Syracuse to Beat Georgia Tech

Remember that 4-0 start Syracuse had at the beginning of the 2023 season? Well, they are 1-5 since, with their only win coming against a 2-8 Pittsburgh team last weekend. Makes it hard to have confidence in even thinking the Tar Heels have a chance at getting into the ACC Championship game when they have to beat Georgia Tech this weekend.

This is the Yellow Jackets’ last ACC game of the regular season because, like Louisville, they have an out-of-conference rivalry game with Georgia next week. The Yellow Jackets currently hold a one-game lead in the loss column over Miami and remember, the Tar Heels must have a three-way tie with Georgia Tech, Miami, and Boston College OR Duke OR NC State.

A Georgia Tech win would eliminate the possibility of that three-way tie scenario. Georgia Tech has looked good at times this season, beating Miami on the road, North Carolina at home, and trailing Ole Miss 24-17 with 10 minutes remaining in the game. However, they’ve also looked bad, losing to Bowling Green at home.

While on the surface, seeing the struggle the Orange have had, it may seem like a longshot. But maybe the Yellow Jackets are looking ahead to next week’s rivalry matchup with the Bulldogs and thinking about a potential upset early. Tar Heel fans can hope that if everything else goes right on Saturday up until kickoff for this game, this one will too…

Syracuse and Georgia Tech are scheduled to kick off at 8:00 PM on the ACC Network.
