The UNC Basketball Class of 2024 has officially been completed, with each commit signing their National Letter of Intent over the past few days.

While signing a National Letter of Intent doesn’t always mean a lot these days, as athletes often decommit and request a release from NLIs, it is another stepping stone in recruiting and a box that must be checked along the way. That box has been officially checked for the entire Class of 2024 commits to the UNC Basketball program.

The early signing period is November 8th through November 15th, and most players who are committed sign during this period. James Brown, Drake Powell, and Ian Jackson made it official for the Tar Heels.

There have been several concerns around the UNC Basketball fan base regarding the recruitment of Ian Jackson. Rumors have been happening for months now that he will be de-committing from the UNC Basketball program and joining Rick Pitino at St. John’s. Pitino recently had former UNC Basketball commit Simeon Wilcher flip from the Tar Heels to the Red Storm.

Despite those rumors and Jackson continuously shutting them down, stating time and time again that he is a Tar Heel, fans still have their doubts. The signing of his NLI gets him, along with Brown and Powell, one step closer to joining the UNC Basketball program in 2024.

The UNC Basketball 2024 recruiting class is currently ranked third in the country by 247Sports behind No. 1 Duke and No. 2 Missouri. As of now, we are under the impression the class is complete as the coaching staff has already begun to look ahead to 2025, but it’s always possible there could be a late addition to the recruiting class in the spring.
