The UNC Basketball program has high hopes for the 2023-2024 basketball season and has been named as a potential Final Four Dark Horse.

No UNC Basketball fan will take stock of preseason expectations from any media members heading into the 2023-2024 season after the way last season went. Of course, the Tar Heels were preseason No. 1 and predicted to make a redemption run back to the Final Four, and we all know how that ended.

However, while not as many preseason expectations are building up as a year ago, the current roster makeup of this year’s Tar Heels has some outsiders thinking of them as a team that could make a deep run into March and make a trip out west to the home of the last UNC Basketball National Championship, Phoenix, Arizona.

Andy Katz, with Turner Sports and the NCAA, recently released his top-ten Final Four Darkhorses, and Hubert Davis’ UNC Basketball team was at the top of his list at No. 1. The talent is there for the Tar Heels to get back on the mountain top of the college basketball world during the 2023-2024 season, they just have to put the pieces together.

Will the Tar Heels make that run in year three under Hubert Davis?
