Star UNC Football Quarterback Drake Maye has been named to the 2023 Davey O’Brien Quarterback Class for his performance on the field.

The quarterback position is one of the most important in college football, and the UNC Football program has been lucky enough to have one of the best in the country the last two seasons. This year, Drake Maye’s performance on the field through the first eight games of the season resulted in him being named to the 2023 Davey O’Brien Quarterback Class.

Maye has put up some impressive numbers in 2023. He has thrown for 2,559 yards, 16 touchdowns, and is completing 65.6 percent of his passes. He has also rushed for 259 yards and 6 touchdowns. While his passing numbers seem a little lower than his 2022 performance, that can be attributed to an offense focused on running the football more and being successful in doing so.

The Davey O’Brien National QB Award is given to the nation’s top quarterback, and the voting process is led by a committee with consideration from fan voting. For UNC Football fans to vote for Maye, they just need to like the photo posted on social media of him by the Davey O’Brien official accounts.
