Last week, the UNC Football program brought a repeat uniform combination for the first time in 2023. Will they do the same this week?

Some UNC Football fans probably don’t want to hear about uniform combinations after last week’s debacle against Virginia. However, it’s something that many people love to see nowadays. Recruits love it. Players love it. It’s something that catches the attention of several people on social media.

The Tar Heels have gotten away from traditional uniform combinations and transitioned into what feels like a different uniform combo every week. Last week against the Cavaliers was just the first time in 2023 that they wore a combination for the second time.

Does the uniform matter? Maybe not. But we can point at records and think it does.

The Tar Heels were 0-4 since 2019 in the “Storm Trooper” all-whites before they won at Pittsburgh earlier this year. They were 2-4 when wearing the throwback retro uniform, and 0-2 in their last two prior to beating Miami two weeks ago. On to this week in Atlanta, though. What will the Tar Heels bring out of the closet under the lights Saturday night?

Once again, we see a different uniform combination from the UNC Football program. This week at Georgia Tech, they will be going with blue helmets, white jerseys, and white pants. This is the first time they’ve worn this combination since last year’s 36-34 win at Wake Forest that clinched the Coastal Division Championship.

Since 2019, they have worn this combination a total of three times and hold a 2-1 record when going with blue/white/white. Hopefully, that winning record continues this Saturday night as the Tar Heels look to get back on track after last week’s let down performance.

Kickoff against the Yellow Jackets is scheduled for 8:00 PM on the ACC Network.
