As UNC Football prepares for another game in Chapel Hill this week, the program announced its team captain representatives for today’s game.

The UNC Football team will host Virginia today in Kenan Stadium for another annual matchup in the South’s Oldest Rivalry. The program tabbed this game as Rams Club Day and Cancer Awareness Day during the pre-season, and we see that reflected in the choice of team captains today.

On offense, we have wide receiver Tylee Craft. Craft’s story has been well-documented as he has been battling a rare form of lung cancer since March of 2022 and continues to fight. Today, he will represent the Tar Heel offense as a team captain.

On defense, Gio Biggers earns the team captain designation after coming up with the game-ending interception a week ago against the Miami Hurricanes. Biggers is fifth on the team in tackles this season with 23.

Tez Walker earns the team captain designation for the special teams unit after coming up with what he called his “biggest play of his career” when he recovered the onside kick in the final minutes against the Hurricanes last week. Coming off a three-touchdown game, Walker will look to continue to make an impact in all areas for the UNC Football program.

For the third time this season, the Tar Heels will have an honorary captain: Camden Bailey. Bailey is a UNC Football student equipment manager who is a cancer survivor. To learn more about his story, check out the video below.

North Carolina will kick off against Virginia on the CW Network at 6:30 PM EST this evening.
