UNC Football: Week Seven Uniform Reveal versus Virginia
By Jordan Falls
The UNC Football program is set for another nighttime matchup as they will host the Virginia Cavaliers. What will the Tar Heels wear this week?
We’ve reached that point in the week again where we are approaching another UNC Football Saturday, and with that comes the weekly Thursday uniform reveal.
Through the first six games of the 2023 football season, the Tar Heels are undefeated at 6-0 and have yet to wear the same uniform combination this year: six games, six different combinations.
Along the way to the 6-0 start, it has also broken some uniform combination jinxes. Since 2019, UNC football has been 0-4 when wearing all-white uniforms, they broke that streak at Pittsburgh with a 41-24 win. The Tar Heels had been 2-4 in the retro throwback uniforms, including 0-2 in 2022, and snapped that losing streak with the 41-31 win over Miami just a week ago. So, what combination of Carolina Blue and white will we see this week?
For the first time in 2023, we will see a repeat uniform combination. The Tar Heels will be wearing White Helmets, Blue Jerseys, and White Pants when they take the field at Kenan Stadium versus Virginia on Saturday evening. The last time North Carolina wore this specific uniform combination was in Week Two of this season when they hosted Appalachian State, a game that they won 40-34 in double overtime.
The UNC Football team has a 2-2 record since 2019 when wearing white/blue/white. Kickoff against the Cavaliers is scheduled for 6:30 PM and will be televised on the CW Network.
