The UNC Football program has received unfortunate news from its wide receiver room as it was announced Kobe Paysour suffered a season-ending injury.

Just a few days after the UNC Football program released its most updated depth chart and a week after they received the great news that Tez Walker was eligible and they would be returning to full strength on the offensive side of the ball, they received some bad news from the same position group…

During practice this week, Kobe Paysour suffered a broken foot and will be sidelined indefinitely. This is a huge loss for the Tar Heels offense and comes a week after he had three catches for 100 yards and a touchdown against Syracuse, including this acrobatic catch and run. Obviously, this is a huge loss for the Tar Heels offense. Paysour is second on the team in receptions with 22 on the season and third on the team in receiving yards at 282.

However, the good news for the Tar Heels is they were able to get to 4-0 without one of their key offensive weapons in Walker, and now they are getting him back into the lineup. They are also deep in the wide receiver room and have three reliable receiving tight ends to pair with them.

Drake Maye was able to find eleven different targets in the game against Syracuse last week, so while the loss of Paysour hurts, having a great quarterback can hopefully help overcome that loss, and since this position has a lot of depth, while young and talented, there is an opportunity for someone else to step up.

The hope is that Kobe Paysour will be able to return at some point this season to help the UNC football program’s offensive attack.
