Here are your UNC Football program team captains ahead of tonight’s ACC Primetime Matchup with the No. 25 Miami Hurricanes.

As the UNC Football program prepares to welcome the No. 25-ranked Miami Hurricanes to Chapel Hill for its biggest game of the 2023 regular season, they announced the team captains for tonight’s matchup earlier today.

On offense, former Miami Hurricane and seventh-year center Corey Gaynor will represent the Tar Heels this evening. He is the leader of the offensive line, and UNC Football head coach Mack Brown said earlier this week that Gaynor was “the boss.”

Defensively, senior linebacker Cedric Gray will represent the Tar Heels. Gray has been the leading tackler to this point in the season, to no one’s surprise, as he continues to build on his impressive 2022 season. You may remember, that Gray had the game-winning interception two seasons ago against the Hurricanes in Kenan Stadium to secure the 45-42 victory for UNC Football.

For special teams, a familiar name has resurfaced in DJ Jones. The former running back turned defensive back will be representing the Tar Heels in that aspect of the game, which will look to do its job on Saturday night and control field position along with hoping to avoid any miscues in the punt game which they have had the previous two games.

Kickoff between the No. 12-ranked UNC Football program and No. 25-ranked Miami Hurricanes is officially scheduled for 7:44 PM and will be nationally televised on ABC.
