The UNC Football program has an upcoming primetime matchup against Miami. What uniform will the Tar Heels put on display for the national audience?

The UNC football program will be in the National spotlight for the second time this season when the No. 25 ranked Miami Hurricanes come to Chapel Hill this weekend. It is a great opportunity for the program to showcase where it is nationally on the field and how it matches up with another top-25 team.

However, it is also a great chance to showcase one of the top uniforms in the country. So, what have the Tar Heels decided to roll out for Saturday evening?

In what has become a more popular tradition since Mack Brown returned to Chapel Hill in 2019, the UNC Football team will break out the throwback uniforms for the seventh time since Brown returned, and the first time in 2023.

The Tar Heels are 2-4 in the previous six matchups they wore the blue helmet/blue jersey/white pants retros, including 0-2 last season in 2022 when they lost to Notre Dame 45-32 and Oregon in the Holiday Bowl, 28-27.

Personally, this is my favorite uniform combination the Tar Heels have, and I would be on board if they decided to go with this every game, but they couldn’t have picked a better game to bring these out of the closet. Primetime. ACC Game. Under the lights and at home. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the players take the field in these come Saturday night!
