As UNC Football prepares to welcome the Miami Hurricanes to town this weekend, let’s look back at historic matchups between the two teams.

Ever since they joined the ACC in 2004, the matchups between UNC Football and the Miami Hurricanes have provided some classics, most of them oddly enough coming at night and in Chapel Hill, just like this upcoming weekend.

Miami has visited Kenan Stadium nine times since 2004, of those matchups, seven of them have been decided by six points or less, and another one by nine points. The lone outlier where it wasn’t a close game was North Carolina’s 59-21 win over the Hurricanes in 2015. Add in the history in Miami Gardens, and five of the last seven matchups have been decided by one possession or less.

The Hurricanes will come to Chapel Hill as the No. 25 ranked team in the country, marking the first top-25 matchup in Kenan Stadium between the two since Miami joined the ACC. So, let’s take a trip down memory lane and relive some of the classics that Kenan Stadium has witnessed.
