The UNC Football program is preparing for its ACC season opener for the 2023 season. What key players may miss the game due to injury?

Once again, the UNC football program has waited until the absolute last possible minute to reveal some injury news for the 2023 ACC opener against the Pittsburgh Panthers. Three players on the offensive side of the ball will miss tonight’s game.

According to Tar Heel Illustrated, wide receiver Gavin Blackwell, running back Elijah Green, and offensive lineman Willie Lampkin will miss the ACC opener against the Panthers. Blackwell had a big catch against Minnesota last week, but then exited the game after getting shaken up on the same play and never returned.

Green is currently fourth on the UNC football running back depth chart, but appears to be fighting an illness this evening and will leave the running back room short one player. Lampkin missed the Minnesota game last week with a similar injury that was speculated that he was injured during warmups before the game with the Golden Gophers.

Stay tuned here as we approach game time for more injury updates. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM on the ACC Network.
