The UNC Football program will take on Minnesota on Saturday. This morning they announced who would represent the team as captains.

As the UNC Football program gets ready for the first-ever matchup with the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday morning, the Tar Heels announced who would be representing them as team captains.

Representing the Tar Heels offensively will be offensive lineman Spencer Rolland.

On the defensive side of the ball, senior defensive lineman Desmond Evans will be the captain. This comes after an impressive week two performance against Appalachian State that earned him team Player of the Game honors from the UNC football coaching staff.

East Tennessee State transfer Alijah Huzzie has been a force in the defensive secondary for the Tar Heels, but he has also been an important factor on special teams. Huzzie will be representing that unit for North Carolina.

All three of these players are very important leaders on their respective sides of the ball.

The UNC football program has used multiple players as captains this season, as the trend has been that the players have earned their opportunity to lead the team each week. It goes to show how many players are putting in the work in order to help the team succeed.
