UNC Football: Game Three Uniform Reveal vs Minnesota
By Jordan Falls
What uniform combination will the UNC football program roll out for the first-ever matchup with the Minnesota Golden Gophers? Find out below!
In today’s era, uniform reveals are cool, and the UNC football program has enough different combinations that we will rarely see the same combination more than twice in a single season, three times if we’re lucky.
So far in 2023, the Tar Heels have rolled out the “color rush” all-Carolina Blue uniform in the opener against South Carolina and what used to be the traditional home look with the white helmets/blue jerseys/white pants against Appalachian State in the home opener.
Let’s be honest. No matter what the combination is, the Carolina Blue and the various Tar Heels jersey combinations are one of the best, if not the best, in college sports (we’re not biased at all). So, the Thursday uniform reveal is something many UNC Football fans look forward to on a weekly basis.
The UNC Football program will welcome the Minnesota Golden Gophers to Kenan Stadium on Saturday for the first time ever. So what combination will the Tar Heels put on display against the Gophers?
The Tar Heels will be going back to the blue helmet, blue jersey, and white pants combination. This is the first time they’ve worn this uniform combo since the Georgia Tech game last season, which they lost to the Yellow Jackets, 21-17. This is the most common combination we’ve seen from the UNC football program since Mack Brown returned in 2019, with the Tar Heels wearing this combo 11 times, however, only once in 2022. North Carolina is 8-3 in this specific combo.
Kick-off against the Gophers is scheduled for 3:30 PM Eastern Time and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN. You can learn more about Minnesota here.
